Carry water with you when the weather is warm. Try to avoid running in excessively hot and humid weather and when pollution levels are
high. In the warmer months, running in the early morning or evening is recommended to prevent heat exhaustion.
Do not wear headphones while running/walking. Music makes you less alert to the surroundings around you.
Avoid running/walking at night, and wear reflective material if running in low light conditions.
Try to run with a partner. If running/walking alone, carry identification (name, phone number, medical information), let others know where you will be running, and run in
well-lighted places and familiar areas. In emergencies, a whistle or noisemaker may be handy. You might want to carry a little money in case you need to make a phone call or run out of hydration.
Wear appropriate clothing for appropriate weather.
